Marimekko Maridenim products are designed following the Jeans Redesign guidelines of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the world´s leading network on circular economy. According to the guidelines, the denim material is monomaterial cotton (80% organic cotton and 20% recycled cotton) with no elastane. Marimekko Maridenim is made with minimal use of hardware, including the use of removable buttons and no rivets. The washing, finishing and use of chemicals also follow the guidelines. To produce the colors, patterns and desired feel of the products, we use, for example, laser technology, E-Flow steam washing and ozone washing, instead of, for example, traditional stone washing.

Unikko, symbolizing creativity, was born in a time when hardly any floral designs were included in Marimekko’s collections. Maija Isola, however, was fascinated by the theme of flowers and decided to create an entire range of novel floral prints.

Fit: Relaxed fit at chest level and at body overall. Shoulder line is dropped. In bottom pieces, relaxed fit on waist and hip, often elasticated waistline. Compared to slim fit, relaxed fit has more designed ease between body and garment.
